Supply Chain Planner
The Role
The primary role of the Supply Chain Planner in HMT is to ensure mapping of the global supplier market to reflect the best cost-effective opportunities for the company to source materials for projects and the best transportation options to arrange transfer of goods.
You will monitor stock, order raw materials, achieve the best prices through negotiations with vendors and ensure timely delivery of orders. Responsibilities include evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.) Ultimately, you’ll create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.
For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical and organizational skills to make sure you are identifying the most profitable offers and global transportation options.

The Job
• Research potential vendors and transportation options for goods globally
• Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
• Conduct cost analysis and market research.
• Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing with suppliers
• Track orders and arrange and ensure timely delivery
• Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
• Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed, material allocation to projects
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
• Prepare packing lists of shipping documents
• Develop and maintain a budget
• Create cost-efficient strategies for purchasing
We are looking for
• Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or any related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement or/and production planning, supply management, or logistics role preferably within manufacturing or industrial sector
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and able to communicate with persons at all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Affinity with MS Dynamics / Solomon system will be considered as plus
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
• Understanding of supply chain procedures
• Exposure to Lean implementation and Lean environments strongly preferred.
• Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
• Strong negotiation skills.
