CNC Plasma Table Operator

We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for the production cutting of all components, which make up the parts in the manufacturing process.

You should be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions and have great attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Operator – CNC Plasma and Press Brakes
  • Trouble shoot programs and give feedback to CAM operator
  • Test and evaluate new processes to improve fabrication process
  • Manage plate and sheet inventory
  • Perform quality control checks of jobs in process
  • Stage parts in a manner that is efficient for the next stage in the fabrication cycle
  • Perform routine maintenance on the machines/table
  • Perform all burning/cutting operations required to support fabrication requirements
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments
  • Communicate effectively with Project Manager & other Operators to ensure quality finished product
  • At all times operate at levels required to create a safe environment for you and your fellow stakeholders
  • Operate overhead crane safely and properly to load and unload burn table including identification of manufactured parts and disposal of scrap material.

Requirements qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining a CNC plasma table
  • Position requires the ability to lift, push and pull 50. lbs., bending, kneeling, walking and sitting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in driving a forklift and operation of overhead hoists is a plus
  • Press Brake and plate roller experience is a plus.
  • Experience in reading shop drawings and architectural drawings is a plus
  • Preferred experience with nesting software and CAD
  • Adequate computer skills & basic math skills
  • Ability to use a measuring tape
  • Ability to learn quickly and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Safely and efficiently unload steel plate and tubing into the proper storage area or bin.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if required (scheduled or unscheduled overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays).
  • Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass required Safety Council training examinations, and all pre-employment screenings i.e. drug screen.
