HMT Tank is looking for an Industrial Painter to perform or assist in all general painting using industry techniques.

The Industrial Painter must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and follow directions as required to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below. Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks. Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb. Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time. Must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions with regard to general painting tasks.
  • Work efficiently and effectively.
  • May be asked to operate heavy equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.

Documented training must be completed, and approved by HMT Safety Management, before operating any heavy equipment.

  • Comply with all HMT quality and safety policies and programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Prior experience using airless and conventional spray guns.
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination
    • Ability to monitor color for matching and quality
    • Experience with and willingness to comply with all safety and masking procedures
    • Prior experience working with chemicals Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and maintain control of spray device
    • Physical stamina and strength
    • Ability to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs Safety management mindset
    • Focus on quality control
    • Ability to wear a half respirator for long periods of time.

    Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to use sand blaster and paint gun with limited supervision. Know the difference between SP-5, SP-6, and SP-10.
    • Blending coating liquids, clean up, and mask off plates.
    • Applying each layer via spraying in accordance with specification
    • Spraying products using industry techniques
    • Read and understand Product Data Sheets.
    • Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications 40 - 70 per week
    • On-the-job training and tools are provided
